Controversy over the boot-out of Jae-bum from idol group 2PM is raging out of control. Following the official briefing for 2PM fans arranged by JYP Entertainment, some 2PM fan sites went temporarily out of service and numerous members of the 2PM official fan café Hottest voluntarily left the community. The withdrawal of fans from an official fan club in protest of how an idol group was run was unexpected and unprecedented.
In particular, some fans are spreading rumors about the private lives of the remaining six 2PM members for supposedly “turning their backs on Jae-bum.” The six members had said at the briefing that they could not work together with Jae-bum after hearing about his “personal wrongdoing.” Even those not interested in the whole 2PM affair appear to be curious about what Jae-bum’s egregious wrongdoing was. Rumormongers speculate that it may be sexual, but Jae-bum’s fans vehemently deny that he could have been involved in any sexual misconduct. They claim that Jae-bum had been far too busy with and focused on his career to do anything inappropriate in his personal life.
