The frequent occurrence of cold snaps, rain and snow are expected to have delayed the blooming of cherry blossoms.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says the flowers will start blooming Friday in Seogwipo City on Jeju Island, which is about two days later than previously forecast.
The blooming dates at major cherry blossom locations are March 28th for Jinhae City and Hadong County in the south, April fourth for Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province and April seventh for Yeouido in western Seoul.
The agency explained that temperatures have been lower than average this month and that frequent rain and snow have decreased the number of sunny days.
